Q: DS Lite connection from Unitymedia

A: I have an IPV6 / IPV4 DS Lite connection from Unitymedia. I would like to know if it will definitely work to access one of your HD IP Cams from outside via my smartphone?

With P2P it does not matter that it is only a DSLite connection. The camera keeps a leased line to a server, as soon as you request the video stream with the app at the server, the server would negotiate the connection. This port forwarding is not necessary, as you need during normal surfing on any Internet sites no port forwarding to exchange data with the respective server.

I would then recommend using our new FullHD camera as it uses a different P2P technique, which is much faster. Of course, our HD cameras are also suitable cameras whose P2P connection is sufficient for most purposes.
