Q: How far does motion detection go? I want to monitor an area that is about 20-25m away.
A: You can also detect movements over a very long distance. It should be noted, however, that you can no longer use the PIR sensor in this case. This would only work up to 12 meters. If you want to detect a movement at 20-25 meters, you would need to use the software-based motion detection of the camera. There you can then select a small area in the picture. If something changes within the small area, then the camera would trigger an alarm accordingly. Since the camera then reacts purely to image changes, the chance of false alarms would be greater than if you were to use the integrated PIR motion detector.
